A Poem

Today we went to Arcata's Saturday Market. The poetry lady, was sitting with her portable, manual type writer in her lap. I told her that I would like a poem about "A Wreck" and this is what she wrote for me. It took her about 4 minutes.

A Wreck

Whether we name our path
in disaster's image
or stumble upon the remains that roadsides
heap and leave us in, all
comes broken to busted and rebuild again, so
that the wrecked can
only signify the what
will be of the remaking

  1. How cool is that! To have someone with a typewriter ready to produce a poem on demand!Only California! Love it!
